Visitor Center

Would you like to know more about the history and future of the Tempelhof airport? Would you like to know what is currently happening here at the site? We would like to invite you to the CHECK-IN visitor center, which is the information center and the heart of the airport.

The CHECK-IN is located directly to the left of the main entrance to the Tempelhof airport building. Here you will find information about the history of the monument, projects and future plans as well as current offers. The visitor center is the starting point for guided tours of the building and also a stopping place – for a coffee, to visit an exhibition or attend an event.

Exhibition

The CHECK-IN visitor center is hosting the exhibition “A BROAD FIELD. Tempelhof Airport and its history”. The show highlights the importance of the Tempelhof Field and the airport during the NS era, as part of the "Berlin Airlift" during the Cold War, and as a connection between European capitals since the 1920s. The exhibition was organized by the Foundation “Topographie des Terrors” (Topography of Terror).

Events

Every month, interesting lectures and information evenings with renowned experts, entitled THFx, take place at the CHECK-IN visitor center, as part of two series of events.

The guests can learn a lot of interesting facts about historical and current topics.

THFxGESCHICHTE (THFxHISTORY) provides insights into the eventful history of the airport building and airfield, always with reference to the present and future of the site.

THFxIMPULSE - Träume vom Fliegen (THFxIMPULSES – Dreams of Flying) is dedicated to the impulses created by dreams in very different forms.
