Renovation concept for the THF site: Sustainable building renovation with a system

The renovation concept, as a further component of the THF planning, deals with the renovation of the buildings on the property and sets construction standards. The aim of the plan is to create a manual for the renovation of the existing buildings. The main topics of the renovation plan include fire protection and the protection of existing buildings, the definition of building types, component and construction standards, and the initiation and implementation of pilot projects and test areas. 

An interdisciplinary planning approach plays an essential role here: In the project essay, life cycle analysis was introduced as a design tool and evaluation system for variant considerations in order to weigh up construction measures against later operation. The aim is to determine the refurbishment variant that best suits the existing structure.
