Search for contemporary witnesses: Your part of the history

History is made by people. Tempelhof Airport‘s hundred years of history would be unthinkable without the people who worked here and helped define it. Are you one of these people?

To keep these memories alive, we are expanding our archive of contemporary witnesses. The aim is to collect and make available diary notes, letters, interviews, and other personal documents from the entire period of its existence to the present day. In addition, video interviews will be conducted with contemporary witnesses who have their own history with Tempelhof Airport.

    The history of the Tempelhof field also provides an insight into the ideology and reality of the National Socialist regime. The premises were a stage for propagandistic mass rallies and a location for the only official Berlin concentration camp. The new airport building with its characteristic features of NS architecture was used for arms production and forced labour during the Second World War.
