The legend of Tempelhof

The former airport building is the largest monument of Europe. Our expert guides show the most varied sides of this unique building. Experience the monumental architecture and know more about the ideological-political background of the airport building, which was designed by Ernst Sagebiel in 1936.

After the Second World War, the US Americans left their mark on the airport building. During the tours, we will guide you to the still visible traces, for example in the basketball hall, which was built above the former departure hall.

Airport Tempelhof has become a symbol of freedom because of the airlift of 1948/49. It plays a very special role in the history of Berlin. In our tours, we will show you the legend of Tempelhof up close.

A highlight of the tour is the view from the visitor terrace if weather permits; from here, you can see an imposing panorama of most of Berlin, the Tempelhof field and the complex of buildings of Airport Tempelhof.
