Projects Overview

In the coming years, the Tempelhof airport is to become a place of experimentation and a new urban district for art, culture and creative industries: an area full of exciting ideas, with space to work, try things out and experiment, space for unique events and creative, innovative and gastronomic offers. The airport building will thus gradually become a creative incubator for the city. The resulting opening and revitalization will bring it back into the social focus of the city. The eventful history will be made tangible in many ways. In addition, the building will no longer be a barrier between the city and the Tempelhof Field, but will act as a connecting bridge with high quality offers. History Gallery

The Tempelhof airport is a place that carries its history in its essence and reflects it to its visitors in a unique way. The visitors can experience its past, as well as its present and future, in a special way: in an exhibition on the 1.2 km long airport roof.

The Allied Museums in Hangar 7

It is time to write a new chapter in the success story of the Allied Museum, which is currently still located in the Clayallee. The internationally recognized collection will be showcased in a completely new way in Hangar 7 at the Tempelhof airport.

German Film and Television Academy Berlin

Another project for the development of the quarter is the examination of settlement possibilities for the German Film and Television Academy Berlin (DFFB). As the main lessee in a selected part of the building, it could provide the initial spark for the establishment of the Tempelhof Screenworks Media Campus.

Aviation Center of the German Museum of Technology

The German Museum of Technology is one of the largest museums of its kind in Europe. Hangar 6 at the Tempelhof airport will showcase the aviation collection with the world's largest stock of historic German aircrafts. The aim of the proposed usage is to create an attractive exhibition area that can be used all year round.
